Brand’s second London property to be housed in the historic former American Embassy
Rosewood Hotels’ second London property is set to open on September 1.
The Chancery Rosewood is located on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair in the historic Grade II-listed former American Embassy.
The property has undergone an extensive restoration and now features 144 rooms and suites and eight restaurants and bars, including an Asian concept eatery and the first European iteration of New York’s Carbone.
The rooftop Eagle Bar will be situated on the seventh floor, named after the three-metre-high, nine-metre-wide golden eagle perched on the hotel’s roof.
The hotel will also house the Asaya spa, with five treatment rooms and a 25-metre pool; various retail spaces; and a 750-person ballroom and range of meeting and event spaces.
The hotel’s managing director Michael Bonsor said: “As we draw nearer to opening the doors of The Chancery Rosewood, we are excited to bring a new level of luxury and cultural vibrancy to London.
“With an exceptional blend of history, contemporary design and unique culinary experiences, this landmark destination will set the stage for a dynamic and immersive social scene in Mayfair.”
