The Carlton marks the group’s 10th Italian outpost
Rocco Forte Hotels has added the 10th Italian property to its portfolio with the opening of The Carlton in Milan’s fashion district.
The hotel has launched following a €60 million renovation of the former Baglioni Hotel Carlton, with 71 rooms and suites that “blend tradition with contemporary design”.
Two restaurants also feature. The menu at Spiga offers “refined simplicity” with local, seasonal dishes, while Café Floretta serves an all-day menu for informal get-togethers.
Elsewhere, the Carlton Bar celebrates Italian aperitivos and Milanese cocktails. The Carlton Garden is also due to open next year.
The hotel’s Irene Forte Spa features a Thermal and Relaxation Suite with sauna, steam room, sensory showers and sound beds, alongside treatment rooms, a nail bar and all-day fitness centre.
Sir Rocco Forte, the group’s chairman and chief executive, said: “It is wonderful to be opening a hotel in the heart of Milan. The city has become one of the most vibrant centres in Europe and economically one of the fastest growing. It is an honour to be part of this.
“The Carlton is a chic new watering hole for the conoscenti [connoisseurs of art] and Milan’s most sophisticated clientele.”
Other properties set to join the Rocco Forte Hotels collection include Costa Smeralda in Sardinia and Palazzo Sirignano in Naples, scheduled to open in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
