Fairmont Tokyo occupies the 35th to 43rd floors of high-rise tower Blue Front Shibaura Tower South and features 188 rooms and 29 suites, five dining options with “panoramic views” of both the city and Tokyo Bay, and an Off Record vinyl listening bar.
Guests also have access to an extensive spa and health centre, 20-metre infinity pool and outdoor sundeck.
Visitors will be welcomed by black labrador retriever Serene – the hotel’s ‘chief happiness officer’.
Fairmont’s chief executive Omer Acar said: “The opening of Fairmont Tokyo marks a major milestone as we proudly bring the Fairmont brand to Japan for the first time, entering one of the most refined and inspiring hospitality landscapes in the world.
“Fairmont Tokyo blends thoughtful innovation with the spirit of omotenashi – the deeply rooted Japanese approach to hospitality that emphasises mindfulness, sincerity and anticipation of guests’ needs.”
The opening follows the launch of Fairmont’s first property in the Czech Republic in April.
The 320-key Fairmont Golden Prague is located in the centre of the capital city and features a range of rooms, suites and residences; event spaces; and a large Fairmont Spa & Wellness centre providing“holistic wellness” programmes across five treatment suites, three saunas, a steam bath and fitness centre.
The “landmark” brutalist building also houses six food and beverage outlets, including the Zlata Praha rooftop restaurant with wide-ranging views of the skyline.
Both hotels offer the Fairmont Gold concierge service, which includes tailored experiences, private check-in, Gold Lounge access and “premium amenities”.
