Other Gulf carriers continue to offer reduced services
Emirates has resumed operations from Dubai, with those booked to fly from Saturday advised they can proceed to the airport.
The guidance also applies to transit passengers if their connecting flight is confirmed, but passengers without confirmed bookings have been advised not to go to the airport.
The airline said in a statement: "Emirates has resumed operations," adding it “continues to monitor the situation and will develop its operational schedule accordingly”. It previously confirmed a reduced flight schedule was operating from Dubai from Friday with the “limited” re-opening of airspace.
On Saturday morning, a social media post from Dubai International Airport said services had been temporarily suspended before a follow-up statement confirmed the partial resumption of services from the hub.
Customers booked to travel with Emirates between February 28 – the date services were shut down – through to March 31 have been given two options: rebook on an alternative flight before April 30 or request a refund.
Those with bookings via travel agents are advised to contact them in order to rebook or request a refund.
Etihad restarted a limited schedule on Friday (March 6) to destinations including London, Manchester and Dublin.
The partial schedule applied to the period from March 6 to March 19, and the carrier warned: “All services remain subject to operational approvals and may be adjusted depending on regional airspace conditions.”
Qatar Airways said it was due to operate limited flights to destinations including London on Saturday “following temporary authorisation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirming a safe operating corridor”.
