History and beach-focused itineraries to debut from this spring
Luxury tour operator Elegant Resorts has introduced Malta as the latest addition to its European portfolio.
From this spring, the brand aims to highlight both the destination’s “rich history” and “stunning coastline”, as well as its convenience for UK travellers.
Experiences offered through the operator will include private tours of St John’s Co-Cathedral, VIP musical performances at the Oratory, boat trips around the archipelago and swimming in the Blue Lagoon.
The culinary scene in Malta’s capital Valetta is also known as “one of the most dynamic in Europe”, according to Elegant Resorts.
Hotels included in the operator’s programme include Iniala Harbour House & Residences just above St Barbara Bastion, The Phoenicia Malta at the gateway to Valetta, refurbished 17th-century Baroque palazzo Rosselli AX Privilege and its sister property adult-only Verdala Wellness Hotel.
During the five-day ‘Discover Malta’ itinerary, which costs from £4,120pp, guests will experience tours of Valetta’s hidden gems and a full-day visit to neighbouring Gozo, while staying at Pheonicia Malta.
The ‘A Tale of Two Islands: Malta and Sicily’ journey will traverse the two islands over 10 days, covering all the key sights and local traditions, with prices starting at £10,310pp.
Sophie Jones, Elegant Resorts’ senior product manager for Europe, said: “[Malta is] a destination that combines culture, history and an unforgettable dining scene. It has a high concentration of Michelin stars for such a small island, alongside incredible local spots serving fresh seafood and Italian-inspired dishes.
“It works well for a short break in Valletta or a longer, more leisurely stay at a hotel like The Phoenicia. You can even combine a visit with Sicily with a 90-minute ferry connection. It is a special destination that truly captures your heart and leaves lasting memories.”
