Phase one will see 55% of suites refurbished by October 2025
Carlisle Bay Antigua has started a multimillion-dollar refurbishment in a bid to boost revenue and occupancy levels.
The renovation will span guest suites, public areas, dining venues and the spa, with all phases of the project expected to be completed by November 2027.
Phase one will see the transformation of the hotel’s Ocean, Bay and Garden Suites - representing 55% of the property’s 87 room and suites – set to be completed by October 2025.
Interiors from London-based designer Miminat Shodeinde of Miminat Designs will use “light and contrasting tones” and “unique textures and materials” to reflect the island’s natural environment.
The hotel’s Beach Balcony Suites, Beach Terrace Suites and Carlisle Suites will be refurbished during the resort’s closure period in 2026, followed by the spa, public areas and restaurants.
Carlise Bay Antigua hopes the upgraded facilities will attract a “greater share” of international travellers, particularly from key markets in the UK, US and Canada.
The Leading Hotels of the World property anticipates the renovations to increase revenue by more than 20% while also boosting occupancy levels.
Cara Doherty, part of the resort’s ownership group, said: “We are excited to usher in the next chapter for Carlisle Bay, where each space will reflect our deep commitment to offering an authentic island experience, with a seamless blend of elegance and comfort.
“The phased renovation allows us to remain true to our vision while providing a refreshed experience for all our guests.”
Bookings for the first wave of renovated suites are now open for the 2025/26 season.
