Six additional rooms marks property’s first expansion in more than 30 years
Relais & Châteaux property Calabash Hotel in Grenada is set to expand with six new suites.
The hotel will unveil four Superior Deluxe Suites in late April, followed by two Hillside Penthouse Suites in May, bringing the total number of rooms to 36.
Designed by Grenada-based company IK Architecture, the one-bedroom Superior Deluxe Suites will feature a spacious living area, kitchen and balcony, while the Hillside Penthouse Suites will offer space for up to four guests.
Set on a hillside overlooking Prickly Bay, these suites will house a private infinity pool, sun deck and shaded outdoor dining area, as well as an in-suite bar and pantry.
Hillside Penthouse Suite guests will also enjoy additional benefits such as a personal golf buggy, airport transfers, daily afternoon tea, canapés delivered each evening and a complimentary mini bar.
The addition of the new suites at Calabash Hotel, a family-run property helmed by three sisters, marks the property’s first expansion in more than 30 years.
The hotel also houses three restaurants: fine-dining venue Rhodes Restaurant, casual eatery The Beach Club and Japanese venue Nori.
Guests can enjoy a range of island activities, such as guided tours of the Garbutt family’s cocoa plantation L’Esterre Estate or a local spice garden.
Co-owner and company director Adele Garbutt said: “At Calabash, we have never stood still. Continuous improvement has always been part of our philosophy, and our recent recognition with two Michelin Keys has only strengthened our resolve to keep moving forward while staying true to who we are.
“The addition of these new suites has been carefully considered and built with great thought and intention. As a family-owned hotel, we remain closely connected to our guests and to the evolving expectations of the luxury traveller.
“We are always looking ahead – refining, enhancing and elevating the experience before it is expected – and these suites represent the next natural step in that ongoing progression.”
