The 37-suite hotel near Marrakech is expected to launch next year
Virgin Limited Edition has unveiled plans to open its second property in Morocco next year.
Set within a 24-acre private agricultural estate a 25-minute drive from Marrakech, the hotel will feature 37 suites, as well as a yet-to-be-confirmed number of residences.
The hotel is positioned one hour from the group’s Kasbah Tamadot property in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, providing “the ideal opportunity” for a twin-centre break.
Guests at the new hotel will have access to three restaurants, a chef’s table and a speakeasy bar, as well as a comprehensive wellness offering encompassing a traditional hammam and 40-metre swimming pool.
A range of sports will also be available, including tennis, padel and horse riding, while a programme of immersive and cultural experiences will be “central” to the guest experience.
Virgin Limited Edition plans to keep sustainability and local culture at the heart of the project, with hotel buildings situated among the farmland to “reflect the authentic agricultural heritage of the region”. The design will also showcase local materials and artwork created by Moroccan and African artists, and home-grown, seasonal produce will be served in the dining venues.
Joe Margison, chief executive of Virgin Hotels Collection, said: “Morocco has an incredible heritage of hospitality, and we are excited to bring our approach of offering exceptional experiences and service with soul to a second Moroccan setting.”
Bookings for the new hotel will open in September ahead of the launch of the first 22 keys in Q1 of 2027, which will be followed by the final 15 keys in Q1 of 2028.
Further details of the estate’s residential project will follow “in due course”.
