South African property to join group’s Rare Finds brand from April 1
Luxury resort group Kerzner International will assume management of hospitality at the Shamwari Private Game Reserve in South Africa from April 1.
The 61-key property will join the company’s Rare Finds portfolio of “one-of-a-kind” resorts around the world.
The reserve on South Africa’s Eastern Cape houses six lodges and a central Explorer Camp, as well as seven restaurants, a spa and wellness facilities.
Shamwari is almost 62,000 acres in size and is home to the big five, alongside more than 5,000 other animal species.
Guests can experience twice-daily game drives, guided bush walks, bird watching tours, river boat trips, photography safaris and stargazing evenings.
The resort is child-friendly, with guests over the age of three allowed on game drives. There is also a dedicated Kids on Safari programme and an adventure playground and zipline on site.
Shamwari is accessible via private air shuttle service from both Cape Town and Johannesburg to an exclusive airstrip.
