A wealth of luxury hotel openings, experiential itineraries and voyages to sought-after destinations are launching across this vast and varied nation. We round up the most unmissable new openings and announcements.
Reopened: July 2025
Following an extensive renovation, Waldorf Astoria New York on Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan has reopened its doors, showcasing a luxurious enhancement of the classic art deco building. Renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon led the renovation, reinforcing heritage features while adding modern amenities such as terraces and the sky-lit Starlight Pool. As a result of the number of rooms being reduced from 1,400 to 375, the hotel now boasts some of the largest accommodation in the city, alongside a garden terrace, fitness centre and cinema.

Launching: Spring 2026
Supercar specialist HunterMoss willdebut in the US next year, taking petrolheads on weekend escapes that capture the spirit of the classic American road trip. Small groups will take turns behind the wheel of some of the world’s most impressive cars – think Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Aston Martins – as they cross the States’ stunning landscapes, punctuated by stays in distinguished properties. Four threenight itineraries will operate between February and June, featuring wine tasting in Napa Valley, horse riding in California’s Santa Ynez Valley, stargazing among the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and drives through vast alpine passes in Utah’s Park City and Deer Valley.

Nestled at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains, Terra Palm Springs is an intimate 13-key wellness haven. With a focus on peace and tranquillity, each room boasts a distinct feature, such as a plunge pool, outdoor soaking tub or fire pit. The spa facilities include a pool, hot tub, detoxifying Himalayan salt sauna and immersive sound room with a calming thunderstorm soundscape. Guests can benefit from a range of wellness rituals, including bodywork therapy, red-light sessions and cold-plunge experiences to boost circulation. The resort’s culinary menu also has a wellness focus, offering nutritious meals, low-alcohol beverages and a range of nourishing tonics.

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side on 76th and Madison, The Surrey is Corinthia Hotels’ first foray into North America. The property is home to 70 rooms, 30 suites and 14 private residences, as well as Casa Tua, an all-day restaurant, lounge and private members’ club. Guests can unwind in the The Surrey Spa – which uses luxury French skincare brand Sisley Paris – and lounge on the outdoor terrace or in the salt relaxation room.

Opening: June 2026
A taste of luxury is coming to Idaho’s Rocky Mountains, as Viceroy Hotels & Resorts is set to open Sun Valley’s first luxury hotel and residences. The alpine property will feature 73 guest rooms and 12 single-level penthouse residences, all with views of the peaks and access to a full-service spa, thermal pool, steam room, cold plunge and sauna. A ‘mountain-modern’ food and beverage programme will showcase distinct concepts, including a restaurant, bar and cafe. A standout feature will be the rooftop observatory and terrace bar with unobstructed access to the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve – the first of its kind in the US.

If a truly immersive and personalised wellness retreat is what your clients are craving, look no further than The Ranch Hudson Valley. The lakefront estate set in verdant parkland an hour from New York City provides clients with distraction-free health and wellbeing reset programmes. Guests begin every morning with a two or four-hour walk through the 200-acre woodland estate, followed by organic plant-based meals, strength training, restorative yoga and daily massages. The property also features a solarium, spa and spacious gym, as well as heated indoor and outdoor pools and hot and cold plunges.

Opening: 2028
Charleston will soon be home to a new addition to the Four Seasons family, with an eight-storey new-build set to capture the city’s quintessential charm and heritage. Guests can expect modern luxuries across the hotel’s 139 rooms, four restaurants and bars, fitness centre and retail space. There will also be an outdoor pool with private cabanas and a full-service spa featuring treatment rooms and hydrothermal facilities. The property will be located in the city’s historic district, steps away from top attractions and cultural sites, including King Street, Charleston City Market and the Gibbes Museum of Art.

Opening: January 2026
Taking the name of an iconic resort that originally opened in the building in 1926, the first Oetker Hotels property in the US is steeped in history, and will bring classic elegance to Palm Beach. The resort is situated close to the beach and buzzing shopping streets, and will feature a restaurant, bar and courtyard. The menu at signature Mediterranean eatery Coco’s has been created by chefs at The Vineta Hotel’s sister property in the south of France, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Opened: November 2025
Located in Big Sky in southern Montana, an hour from Yellowstone National Park, One&Only Moonlight Basin marks the brand’s inaugural US location and first ski resort. Alongside 72 rooms and suites, 19 cabins and 62 private homes – all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and roaring fires – the property will house six bars and restaurants. The centrepiece of the resort is the One&Only Sky Lodge, which includes a restaurant and bar with magnificent views, plus a retail space offering skiwear and equipment. The brand plans to open a second US outpost, in the Hudson Valley region of New York, in 2028.

Launching: Summer 2027
Alaska is becoming a sought-after destination for affluent travellers – and Explora Journeys is ahead of the curve. The luxury line’s summer 2027 season will see the launch of this destination, with Explora III departing on round-trip voyages from Vancouver, Canada, on two new itineraries. The first journey in May will showcase glacier-carved fjords and forested islands, visiting Sitka, Prince Rupert and Endicott Arm. In July, Explora III will return to visit Hubbard Glacier, Kodiak and the Indigenous community of Alert Bay. Natural experiences will be at the forefront, with forest hikes on offer alongside dog-sledding, skiing and boating.
